Daughter of Charles Emmanuel I of Savoy and Catherine Michelle of Habsburg, in 1608 she married Francesco IV Gonzaga, becoming Duchess of Mantua in 1612. After her husband’s death, she exercised the regency for her newborn son, who died shortly thereafter.
